When it comes to job hunting these days some people don’t think they have enough options. Are you looking in the right place? You want to make sure that you have a job that has a good future ahead, like manufacturing, but you may also want to look for something that allows you some freedom and some room to move.
While having room to move up the ladder is a great thing, you may also want room to roam. For someone that seriously enjoys travel, trucking or flight attendant are no longer your only options to be able to get out on the road for work.
Here are some of the jobs out there that will help get you on the road and give you a career you enjoy.
Sales
There are many sales jobs that can get you out on the road, whether they are local or international sales. Become a buyer for a company or become the main salesperson for a company that deals with clients all over the world or your home country. You’ll meet a ton of new people and you’ll get to make great choices for the company.
Business Executive
You may think the executive at a business just sits behind a desk in their office all day, but alas, they spend a lot of time travelling. A company that has many outlets all over has to have someone that travels between them to make sure everything is running smoothly. It’s a great position of responsibility for someone that loves to travel.
Journalist
Working for a national newspaper or news channel can get you a ticket to almost anywhere. One day you could be interviewing the president of the United States and the next day you could be in China celebrating new year. You have to have guts for this kind of job though because sometimes you’ll cover dangerous situations, like wars and storms.
Photographer
Like to take photos? Get a job as a wedding photographer. If you get great at it people will hire you from all over the world. While at first your travel may keep you somewhat local, this career choice does have potential and you could easily expand to photographing more than just weddings.
Recruiter
If you’re a fan of Jerry Maguire, maybe you want to become a sports recruiter. Modelling agencies also employ recruiters, as well as other businesses. Take yourself out on the road and find great people that will fit the role you are looking to fill. Who knows, you might discover the next Michael Jordan.
Travelling for work comes with some hiccups, like the need for a passport and knowing the rules and laws in other countries. Take some time to get to know the place you’ll be travelling to and you’re bound to have a great work trip.
