Ok, so not everyone can take an actual vacation, where you leave all your work at home, shut off the phone, and just enjoy the trip. If you are one of the millions of Americans that have started your own business or are working for yourself, then you probably already know this struggle. You want a nice, relaxing vacation with your family, but you are the one person everyone comes to when something goes wrong at work, or you are simply your only employee.
These days, many people take working vacation. With tablets, laptops, and smartphones, and of course the use of Wifi, you can work from almost anywhere. That means you can have that luxury vacation, and still be on the clock while you’re enjoying some time away from home.
Face it, everyone needs a break from home and from the office, even if you’re still working and still spending time with the family. Here are some good ideas for vacations that allow you to enjoy the luxury, but still get your work done.
Go On A Cruise
While you are in the middle of the ocean you may not be doing a lot of work, which is good. You can use that time to play some golf, go swimming, do some dancing, or any of the other number of things that are offered on luxury cruises these days. Yachts take plenty of stops at ports, which is your chance to catch up on work.
Not into a busy cruise vacation? Rent a yacht, or maybe even buy one and keep it at your vacation destination. You can find some great business that supply yacht services, to help keep your investment in tip top shape when it comes time for your luxury vacation days.
Take A Plane To Another Country
The United States isn’t the only place with internet connections. Don’t be afraid to hop a plane and fly to another country for a nice vacation. You could always set up some work meeting while you’re there and get information on what your line of business is like elsewhere in the world.
You’ll want to shut off your phone and other devices while your flight is going, but you’ll have plenty of time to catch back up on work once you’ve landed.
Rent A Fancy RV
If boats and planes aren’t really your thing, but you have the travel bug, you can buy or rent a luxury RV and hit the road in style. Stay at campgrounds, in a relative’s yard, or come up with your own idea. You can work on the road with Wifi hotspot.
There are plenty of people that are basically working digital nomads. They spend every day of their lives on the road, working in a virtual world while they enjoy the real one.
