Intel slashes prices on Core 2 Duo procies
Intel recently announced new prices for its microprocessors, the price cuts are quite enticing especially the big slash it gave to the E8500 Core 2 Duo processor.
The chip, which at 3.16Ghz is Intel’s fastest procie, got a 31 per cent price cut down to $183. The E8400 also received a price cut and is now at the same price s the E8500. This move means that the E8400 will soon be phased out. Also, the E7200 is now $113, which is the same price as the E4600 and E4500.
The price cuts are seen as Intel’s way of giving more space to the Core 2 Quad processors.
The price cuts are making me consider doing an upgrade this year.
