Digital Cameras with Built-In Printers
A startup called Zink and the venerable Polaroid are working on a digital version of the Poloroid camera – a digital camera with a built-in printer.
They’re not actually building the camera but developing technology that miniaturizes printers small enough to fit in digital cameras.

The secret is that, instead of ink, the paper itself is capable of turning any color and the printer heads simply tell each “pixel” on the paper what color to turn.

This is definitely an interesting idea, but I am skeptical about the quality. Typically when you see these “combination” devices that are capable of doing several different things, they don’t do any one of them particularly well.

According to Zink, the technology they’ve developed with the help of Polaroid will let printers do the same thing as their cameras did, except the image quality will be higher.
